Le Japon gagne la 10ème Coupe du Monde de la Pâtisserie. The second time since 1991, yes, this is one thing we are good at. Not football.

Although I appreciate the gateaux and cakes and tarts and kaka (erm in Swedish, not French) I had in Europe, I must say that one can get quite a few decent patisserie or cakes in Japan too.
