Play like Brazil
Good that the Swedes finally put one in after all the huffing and puffing in front of the Paraguaian goal. The sight of Marcus Allback introduced after half time is not always an encourging sign, but it was his header across the goal that created Ljunbergs match winning header. So far, it was a Joy to watch the Argentinians passing game, Czech team looks promising, the jury is still out for the Spaniards, England and Holland are bit of a dissapointment from a neutral spectator point of view.
Here in the far east, we were told, before the world cup, by the experts that we will definitely get three points from the first match and probably drew against Croatia and even draw against Brazil to earn enough points to pass the group stage. After the rude awaking by the hands (or the foot) of Aussies, most people returned to their senses, and nobody talks about advancing to the next round. But some people cannot (or don't want to) stop dreaming.
This article suggests that we can still beat Croatia, and with good reasons.
.....Yes, it is in Japanese, but the headline reads:"Going to beat Croatia! Nakata will be Kaka"
The article goes"...Brazil exposed some weakness in the solid Croatian team...", and offers some great strategy ."....there is a chance of winning if Nakata can score from long range like Kaka and if our full back Santos plays like Roberto Carlos and one of our reserve forwards Tamada plays like Ronaldino to destroy the Croatinan defence".
Yeah, and I will be Johnny Depp and get all the girls.
I agree that one doesn't look so clever just being a pesimist and indeed there is a part of me that hoping for a famous victory, but the odds don't look great.
Well, well, we shall see tomorrow.
